Amman is a White City

I noticed a few years ago that Amman is very white.  Most buildings are made of local limestone that is off white.  There are some tall glass buildings that are grey, green, blue but houses, shops, offices etc. are made of the limestone.

Like every city I have been to in the Midfle East, there are a lot of unfinished buildings, some on every block. I have been told that unfinished buildings have a lower tax rate. So people may live and work in a building missing a wall or roof or with rebar sticking out all over.
