The currency in India is the Rupee. The exchange rate is 52 Indian Rupees for 1 US dollar. I cashed In $100 and got 5000 rupees. Pictured are 100 rupees, about $2, and 1000 rupees, about $20. I gave a guy at the hotel a 100 rupee tip for carrying my bags and now he greets me by my name every time I walk through the lobby. That must have been a good tip. I do recommend using some Purell hand sanitizer after handling the money.
