Seein' the sights ??

Two or three different articles that I read about Turkey mention that it was the 6th most popular tourist spot in the world. However they were not talking about Ankara - there doesn't seem to be much to see around the city.

Istanbul, Turkey is one of the most important and favorite tourism spots in the whole world because it has bridges, beautiful mosques, old shops and the Strait of Bosporus which divides Europe from Asia.

Other places in Turkey have beach resorts on the Aegean and Mediterranean seas.  Ankara doesn't have any of this things. It's the capital city, they told me it is about government, growth, the military, universities and not tourism.  Ankara is a growing place, it seems to be spreading outwards but also you can look in any direction and see large cranes building very tall buildings.
