Flip Flops in Iceland

April 3, 2018. Flew DFW to Denver.
Left Denver to fly all night to Reykjavik, Iceland, which took about 8 hours.  We flew on Icelandair, got a very good deal on tickets plus when flying to Europe, Icelandair lets you get off of plane for up to 7 days in Iceland and then continue your trip.  Felicia got off of the plane in the Iceland snow wearing her flip flops.

Flew 3 more hours from Reykjavik to Oslo.  Felicia said we had been in airports and on planes for 17 hours.  We were not finished yet but it was good to get out of the airport.
Took train from airport 25 mutes to Oslo Central Station where we picked up our train tickets to go to Bergen the next day.

Then we walked 10 minutes to our hotel in Oslo.  Weather cold but nice.  We were at the city center with old shops, hotels, restaurants and government buildings.   Oslo is the capital of Norway so there were many government buildings. Walked to parliament and royal palace and university.
After dumping our bags at hotel, we walked around old town Oslo looking for some food and drink.  I ate moose stew and had a Norwegian porter, Susie had some good looking fish soup - Like bisque.  girls had wine

We were also just a few blocks from the ocean, with piers, old and new ships, ferry boats, pubs and an old castle to guard the port.  Had another beer sitting outside under a space heater.  The outside tables all had sheep wool backs on the seats and blankets for your legs.
