The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is on the Persian Gulf and borders with Saudi Arabia and Oman and is just across the gulf from Iran.
There are seven emirates (like states?) in the UAE. Today I flew into Dubai, which is the largest city in the UAE and also the fastest growing. Tomorrow we will be driving to Abu Dhabi to go to work. Abu Dhabi is the largest emirate, the capital of the UAE and produces the most oil.
Today Dubai is known around the world for it's towering buildings, giant construction projects, good shopping and indoor ski slopes. It is an architects dream and has the most awesome building designs that I have ever seen. Dubai is a new city, it was a pile of sand 15 years ago but has grown at an astounding rate since then.
