The first night we arrived in Jordan, we were asked to go out for an argila. I did not know what that was so I immediately said yes. (See blog pics from earlier in the week). I found out that argila, shisha and hookah are all the same. They refer to the name of the water pipe. Apparently hookah is what we say in the US - there are several hookah bars where I live. When I was in the UAE a few months back, they asked me if I wanted to smoke the shisha at lunch. Here in Jordan they say argila. I have also smoked shisha many years ago in Cairo.
