One reason traffic is slow

Dogs, bicycles, push carts, touk-touks, broken down vehicles, pedestrians, cows, a few piles of bricks or sand in the road all help to slow down traffic. Big to mention 10 million vehicles

Nice Tatas

Later today we will be meeting with a large Indian company called Tata. This is the largest automobile company in India and you see their cars and trucks on every road we have been on. They are as common as a Ford or Chevrolet is in Texas. We are meeting with them because they were recently the first commercial company to win a large contract from the Indian government. Some of the companies we have met with this week have been Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) that are mostly owned by the government. We have met with very large companies that are part of the Ministy of Defence or part of the Department of Atomic Energy??? As part of the government or military the PSUs have always been specified to be the prime contractor to the government so a company like ours would have to work through a PSU to do military contracts here. The PSUs are not the most efficient way to work and Tata won their large communications contract based on their high tech capability and their lower cost.

Lapin Kulta

There are a lot of good beers in Finland but every bar and restaurant that I have been in serves Lapin Kulta . It is my kind of beer , not too bitter not too strong and I feel Finnish when I say Lapin Kulta – that is one of the few Finnish words or phrases that I know.

Elf on Board

On the flight to Helsinki I sat across the aisle from someone with some nice high heel shoes that my daughter would love. They were black, 4 inch tall heels, pointed toes like elfs wear. The shoes looked nice, the guy wearing them not so nice. I think he is going to the Prom tonight. Yes, a guy was wearing them and what's even worse is that he was some kind of engineer. He had a box with a lot of lights and wires. Size of a shoe box and it looked like it was filled up with a lot of bells that blinked on and off. I was hoping that security back in New York looked really hard at this guy on high heels carrying around a box that looked like a bomb. This guy was as distracting as when I was a few rows away from Iggy Pop on a flight. See my blog from August 20, 2013. I tried not to stare too much but finally had to take about 10 pics of his pretty shoes.
